Established in 2017, The Jerk Bowl is a subsidiary of Simply Comfort Food which are both family ran businesses. Simply Comfort Food was established in 2008 by Nicole Hill-Williams. Growing up in Chicago; she has had a passion for cooking ever since she could remember, coming up with and mastering recipes at a very young age. This passion transcended into her using food as a way to serve her community and bring comfort to others. As an ode to her Jamaican heritage, with her own twist of course she takes pride in highlighting things such as familiar flavors and smells from the island. As a result of her selfless personality and ability to positively impact everyone she comes across, Simply Comfort Food and The Jerk Bowl were born.
